This is what we call spinning a crankshaft… and it is not a good thing. Consequence of 1 and 2: Run out. When the crankshaft does not run true, you have excessive run out. This creates vibrations and in some instances create problems with oil pumps and cam gears not running true on the end of the shaft.
When installing either a gear drive system, or Red Shift Dual Piston Cam Chain Tensioners, you must create clearance on one of the casting ribs inside the cam chest cover. Simply remove one support fin with a die-grinder, taking it down flush with the inside of the cover. All the parts won't make the complete trip. Some won't pass through the upper transfer port and when the piston goes by, it will drive these parts into the cylinder wall, destroying both. To repair this damage, both the crankshaft assembly and the cylinder and piston must be replaced -- two very expensive components. The folks at Feuling have been in the cam business awhile, and when we called our pal Luke there to discuss cams for our internally stock 2015 103ci H-D Twin Cam engine, he was kind enough to offer up some solid advice as well as a whole mess of parts to make our cam swap a much more worthwhile endeavor.

Ok this for richard allen bout my 2002 roadking classic cutting out at low speeds. You said something about the air temp sensor. Is it the intake air sensor or engine temp sensor there both in the area you told me about.

Where is production efficient and attainable

Because the camshaft and lifters are primarily lubricated by the splash of oil from the crankshaft, any RPM below 1,800 may result in insufficient lubrication and may cause cam lobe failure. The high RPM also allows the lifters to rotate quicker and seat properly to the camshaft during this critical break-in procedure.
Had the same problem with my flhtci at 16000 miles The cam bolt recall was done at 3000 miles. the company wouldn't go for a new motor though just an oil pump

Mar 29, 2018 · From what I can read, the 96 produces 68 HP, 103 makes 74 HP. So about 6HP more. They are around 1600cc engines so the outputs are pathetic. If you can’t beat 100HP per 1000cc re-design or die.
